Villa Adriana

Villa Adriana was the official resort of the roman emperors, outside of the city of Rome, for a few centuries. Built by emperor Adrian in the second century AD, perhaps at the place of his wife's villa, it includes libraries, pools, barracks, entertainment venues and private emperor's offices in an area of 120 hectares. From 1999 is a site UNESCO itself.
