S. Maria Maggiore

The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore was built in 432, in the place where, according to the tradition, on august the 5th 352 AD, it snowed in Rome.

Though some restoring works and little changes, the church has kept its original shape and size, as well as a lot of paintings and mosaics.
