In 1942 the Universal Exposition of Rome (EUR) was scheduled but did not take place, because of the war.

A big part of the site of the exposition was however completed.

It is the most evident witness of the italian architecture of the 30s, by the architect Piacentini.

Now the EUR is a nice residential and administrative district of Rome.
